Tasmanian footwear brand Blundstone has teamed up with winter festival Dark Mofo for its third year running to not only produce content, but provide footwear to festival performers and staff.
Blundstone's philosophy, 'Everywhere Life Takes Me' has been featured throughout the festival and is especially highlighted in a film which has been created in partnership with Dark Mofo headliner, Sharon Van Etten.
The video was shot during Van Etten's time at the festival and has been featured across Van Etten's, Bundstone's and Dark Mofo's channels.
Firming its place in the festival even further, festival staff and performers have been wearing exclusive Blundstone boots which feature a hand printed elastic gusset which incorporates the Dark Mofo 2019 theme, Forest. In celebration of this theme, Blundstone created four different forest designs which can feature on the gusset.
Blundstone global head of brand design Adam Blake said that the Dark Mofo festival is an opportunity to celebrate both brand's Tasmanian heritage.
"As we grow into our third year partnering with Dark Mofo, a key aspect that keeps us together is the celebration of our home on this island state, the pride in what we have become and the support for individual expression, a yearning for out-of-the-box thinking.
"The festival gives us the opportunity to celebrate our community and bring international attention to this special part of the world.
"In addition, festival performers and employees [are wearing] wear bespoke, money-can’t-buy Blundstone boots.
"Once only known as a work boot, the partnership communicates the evolution and relevance of the brand to the lifestyle and fashion market," he said.
Dark Mofo creative director Leigh Carmichael said that the support from partners like Blundstone helps keep the festival running.
"Dark Mofo is thrilled to once again be partnering with Blundstone.
"As a festival that is not commercially driven, we rely on the ongoing and generous support of our patrons and partners to make the event happen.
"Being able to work alongside an iconic Tasmanian company with almost 150 years’ history is a privilege in itself, but seeing our collaboration come together in such a creative way is even better."
The Dark Mofo festival runs from June 6-23 in Hobart, Tasmania.
