Sustainable footwear label, Allbirds, opened a pop-up experience at Bondi Beach over the weekend.
The pop-up, named The Hideaway, gave beach-goers an opportunity to experience both the Tree and Wool Allbirds shoes.
A spokesperson for Allbirds, said that the pop-up enabled the Allbirds team to form lasting bonds with new customers.
“For us, it's all about that personal connection and getting our product into the hands of curious consumers.
“We've found that once people try our shoes, right away they can feel the difference in comfort and design. We wanted to provide a new and engaging way to encourage Aussies to try a pair for themselves.
“The pop-up [was] a great opportunity to talk directly to customers about their experience with our products, while also develop[ing] lasting bonds with people who haven't yet tried Allbirds.”
Allbirds also allowed customers to take a pair for a spin, letting them experience the shoes first-hand on a coastal walk.
The spokesperson said that the 'test-out' feature let customers garner a better sense of the day-to-day wear experience.
“Since our products are designed for optimal comfort, it’s important to give customers a space to interact with our shoes and materials in person.
“The great thing about the 'test out' concept [was] that participants [got to] experience our shoes in the different kinds of terrain they'd be wearing them in their everyday life, so they [got] a better sense of the day-to-day comfort our products provide.”
The Hideaway also showcased new 'Bondi Blue' laces on the Tree and Wool styles.
The pop-up was active from November 03-04 in front of the Bondi Pavillion.
