Palmaira Sandals Australia recently hosted a week-long sale – which resulted in thousands of pairs of sandals sold – in celebration of its finalist position in the Telstra Business Awards.
Palmaira offered a 20% discount to customers for a week, to celebrate the success. The sale resulted in over 4000 pairs of Avarcan sandals sold, despite it being winter.
Palmaira Sandals Australia co-founder, Gemma Taylor said that the business was blown away by the customers' response.
"Reaching the finals of the Telstra Awards was a huge milestone for us and then to receive such an overwhelmingly positive response to our 'thank you' promotion just blew us away."
Customers jumped on the sale, with day one alone resulting in a sale of 744 pairs. The popular styles in the sale included; the tan nubuck flats – which sold 572 pairs in the first 48 hours of the sale; the rose metallic style garnered 312 sales; and, the leopard print colourway saw 245 pairs go out the door.
Word of the discount spread quickly, as customers tagged their friends on social media, leading to record sales for the week.
Meanwhile, the brand is also re-imagining its website, which is set to go live in the next month. The new website will host new functions – suggested by customers – including a wish-list and search by size availability feature.
Palmaira Sandals Australia co-founder, Jenny Sewell, said that not only listening to customer feedback, but celebrating wins with customers, is a vital part of the business.
“We are big on customer feedback and [the new website functions] are just a couple of things we believe they will hugely benefit from.
“[We] decided to give back to [our] loyal customers [because] it is [so] important to celebrate your successes with your customer.”
