Co-founder of Australian online shoe retailer Shoes of Prey, Mike Knapp, is set to move on from his role as chief technology officer.
Speaking exclusively with Ragtrader, fellow co-founder Jodie Fox commented on the news noting that lengthy discussions with the team had occurred in preparation for Knapp's departure.
Fox is confident the team will continue to succeed going forward.
“Our team is exceeding all of us as founders. It's quite incredible. [Knapp's] talent, ideas and role, have all been things that have been so valuable within the business but I have total confidence in the team.”
“The website didn't exist just because of Mike, there is a team around him, of which he has been such an important linchpin. But as a founder you have to trust a lot in your team and I think it will be fine.”
In terms of future involvement within the business, Fox was sure the two would “of course be emailing each other,” with the formalities not yet resolved at this point.
This is the second shock announcement from the online retailer which, earlier last month, announced they would be closing all physical stores.
