JD Sports revealed its newest store in Westfield Warringah Mall on May 10 as part of its expansion plans for 2018.
JD Australia head Hilton Seskin said the company saw an opportunity to continue to expand based on consumer demand across the company's first eight stores.
“The success of the first eight stores has certainly highlighted the consumer demand for athleisure and limited edition footwear, with the Australian consumer having first access to never before seen styles including JD exclusives.”
The company was expecting a crowd of approximately 200 customers on opening day with the 330 sqm store offering over 100 JD Sports exclusives and footwear and apparel from international sportswear brands including Nike, Adidas, Reebok and Puma.
Seskin added that the company planned on expanding its operations along the East Coast as part of its 2018 strategy.
“JD Sports has a real focus on product and presentation, and the scale of the global JD business means we can leverage the best offering and bring it to the Australian consumer first.
“2018 will see further expansion with a minimum of at least five new stores across the Eastern Seaboard before the year ends.”
