Footwear retailer, JD Sports, has announced a partnership with A-League soccer team, the Western Sydney Wanderers.
The retailer has signed on to become the club's co-major front of shirt partner for the 2018/19 season, which will see the JD logo emblazoned on the front of the team's away jersey and the highly anticipated third kits.
Head of JD Sports, Hilton Seskin, said that the partnership will further align the brand with its strong customer base in Western Sydney.
“We've established a significant footprint and customer base within Western Sydney, and the expanded Wanderers partnership reinforced our commitment to the local community.
“From our entry into the marketplace, The Wanderers have been a fantastic support in helping to authenticate the JD brand, and we're excited to keep working with the club at an elevated level.”
Western Sydney Wanderers CEO, John Tsatsimas, said that the partnership with JD is a great fit, due to JD's place in Australian youth sports culture.
“JD Sports' expansion into the Western Sydney market has been phenomenal and their place in youth sports culture is unquestionable, we are excited to have JD Sports on our away and highly anticipated new third kit.”
JD Sports currently has stores in Parramatta, Penrith and Mount Druitt.
The partnership was announced on October 10.
