Catch is an Australian online superstore that hosts 1.2 million products ranging from everyday essentials to luxury items.

When it comes to footwear, the e-commerce retailer has a large portfolio with hundreds of brands available at up to 60% off regular retail price.

Footwear buyer at Catch, Skye Cribbes, has worked for the company for two years, but has 13 years experience in footwear buying, with previous experience at Ozmosis and Accent Group.

Cribbes said that the footwear segment on the site has grown significantly over the past 12 months and that huge amounts of shoes are sold through the site.

"We have definitely grown significantly over the years and especially over the past 12 months in footwear.

"Across sports, lifestyle and kids footwear, it makes up 22% of our business. That’s a huge amount of shoes considering we have so many categories from toilet paper to Tiffany & Co.

"We have strong relationships with major brands and more and more customers are coming to Catch to get the shoes they love at the best prices in the market."

Cribbes said that Catch looks at what customers are searching for on the site to help determine what to stock on the site.

"It’s all about getting the best products and brands at the very best prices for our customers. We are always on the lookout for the latest trends and what brands are creating demand in the market.

"By looking at what our customers are searching for we can get a good idea of what we need to focus on. But for those shoppers who prefer browsing instead of having a specific style in mind, I go to trade shows all around the world to stay ahead, learning about up and coming brands and styles.

"Stocking the major brands in the footwear industry is important [as] our customers are very brand conscious, so we only deal with the best. Brands like Nike, Asics, Birkenstock, Adidas, Converse and Havaianas are our biggest sellers."

In terms of stocking new brands, Cribbes said that Catch is always looking to source deals on footwear that customers are demanding.

"[Catch is] constantly sourcing the best deals for our customers, but we are always looking to partner with new brands and brands that our customers are demanding.

"Brands can send an email through to sourcing@catch.com.au and these emails get sent direct to our buyers.

"Catch also operates as a curated marketplace allowing brands from all around the globe to sell their products on the site.

"This is great for our customers as we offer more and more products without the additional cost to Catch of storage and handling."
