Australian footwear brand, Emu Australia, has branched into the athleisure/lifestyle category and is preparing to launch its first collection of wool sneakers.
The lightweight and machine washable sneakers are created using fabric techniques similar to those used on wool suits, while also implementing an innovative foot bed design which is odour resistant.
Made from 100% Australian Merino wool, the sneakers help to aid performance due to the hand-cut panelling which helps the shoe stay form-fitting, flexible and comfortable.
In a statement, the brand said that the new range can complement any outfit.
“Emu Australia’s wool sneakers are subtle in design meaning they can be worn well with everything from active wear to street casual.
“The Barkly features a low profile design with reflective webbing loops for visibility, the fashionable high top Goldhar lace up method creates controlled regulation on the foot.
“These sneakers are sure to become a wardrobe staple.”
The brand is also launching a wool sneakers line for kids, which features Velcro instead of laces for easy handling.
Emu Australia will launch the range in mid-July at premium retailers and on the Emu Australia website. The price range is yet to be confirmed.
