Dr. Martens has recently announced a collaboration collection with Japanese fashion retailer, United Arrows & Sons.
The shoe – titled Dr. Martens x United Arrows 1461 Louis Shoe – will be available August 25 at the Dr. Martens concept store in Westfield Sydney, as well as online.
The three-eye 1461 shoe is a mix of textured 'aunt Sally' leather quarters with smooth, vamp leather across the toe. The Louis slip-on features the iconic Dr. Martens yellow stitching as well as the Goodyear welt sole. The shoe's sock-liner boasts dual Dr. Martens and United Arrows & Sons branding.
Dr. Martens said that the shoe is not only recognisable as Docs product, but is sophisticated and cool.
“Fusing the iconic silhouette of Docs' 3-eye 1461 shoe with the instantly recognisable detailing of the Louis gusset slip-on, this is a style that [is] both sophisticated and undeniably cool.”
The muted black laces can be swapped out for yellow ones, for a brighter pop-of-colour.
United Arrows entered the fashion scene in the late 80s and has since challenged contemporary streetwear styles, striking a balance between minimal and premium. This aesthetic inspired the newly released shoe.
The Dr. Martens x United Arrows 1461 Louis Shoe will retail for $239.99.
