Converse has teamed up with Hello Kitty owner, Sanrio, to bring a pop-culture inspired, 'kawaii' collection to the market.

The line launched globally on August 16 and is available in Australia from Converse stores and JD Sports.

The Converse X Hello Kitty line features 'Hello Kitty and friends' patterns screen printed on the canvas upper, a peek-a-boo Hello Kitty on the tongue and, "say hello to me when you see me," printed on the foxing tape.

The styles to feature include the classic Chuck Taylor All Star Hi, Chuck Taylor all Star OX, Chuck 70 Hi and the One Star OX.

The line is available across both adult and children sizes with the adult line retailing for between $120-$160, while the kids range retails for $80-$90 on the Converse website.

Both Hello Kitty and the Converse One Star sneakers were launched in 1974.
