Caverley Shoes is gearing up to launch its spring 2021 collection into Myer, after signing an agreement for the retailer to be its exclusive Australian department store partner.
Caverley Shoes will launch the collection into Myer in August.
Myer joins other key retailers for the brand including Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Revolve, The Bay (Canada) Urban Outfitters and The Iconic.
The local partnership follows Caverley Shoes' recent launch of an exclusive collaboration collection with Urban Outfitters China and another retail launch with Anthropology in the USA.
However, founder Sara Caverley told Ragtrader that the business had to make some key adaptations to keep its retailers on board throughout 2020.
"2020 was a tricky year for us.
"We, like most brands, experienced heavy cancellations in wholesale orders due to the pandemic.
"We were however able to save most orders by pushing out to a later delivery or we were able to move these already produced units through our own eCommerce platform.
"Luckily we were still able to retain some of our key retailers," she said.
Additionally, the brand also re-evaluated its approach to product, streamlining its collections and taking a 'less is more' attitude towards drops.
"We used to offer up 35-40 piece collections each season (three to four times a year) but surviving the pandemic has meant we have had to really consolidate our collections into smaller offerings," Caverley explained.
"This allows us to really concentrate on our key performers and offer multiple colourways within those styles.
"With this shift we are also spending less in development costs and can be quicker to market with key trends if we are not focusing on a such broad collections," Caverley said.
