Accent Group had more than just Christmas sales to celebrate in December, with the retailer opening its 700th store before closing out the year.
The store was the 207th opening for the footwear group since March 2020, demonstrating its commitment to bricks-and-mortar retail, even during the challenging lockdowns of the pandemic.
While the business' VVV (VIP, Virtual and Vertical) strategy has been making headlines, Accent Group still counts its bricks-and-mortar stores as a driving force of growth.
To continue to elevate its store experience, the business is investing in its design, introducing new store concepts to the market.
Accent Group CEO Daniel Agostinelli said the business is ahead of its growth plan.
"We continue to drive digital sales in tandem with growing our store network.
"We remain committed to a long-term strategy of delivering customers a best in class integrated digital and in-store experience and we will continue to open and renew store leases where our targeted return on investment can be achieved.
"We are again ahead of our plan for new store openings, we now proudly have over 700 stores, 33 brands and over 35 online platforms," he said.
The opening of the 700th store follows the business' recent deal with Reebok to become the exclusive distributor for the brand in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).
Accent Group's portfolio of footwear and retail brands includes The Athlete's Foot, Platypus, Hype, Stylerunner, Merrell, Exie and 4Workers.
The business employs more than 6000 people across Australia and New Zealand.
