Accent Group has announced a new mental health initiative, Stamp Your Feet, committing $450,000 over a three year period to mental health charities in both Australia and New Zealand.
Stamp Your Feet allows its employees, customers and the extended community of Accent Group to support charities that connect with diverse communities, hardships and interests, and align with current societal challenges.
Launching the program with Headspace Australia and Youthline New Zealand, Accent will support the charities for three years, contributing $100,000 and $50,000 per annum respectively.
Accent Group CEO Daniel Agostinelli said the initiative is just the start for the business.
"Australia-wide, we are experiencing unprecedented levels of mental health issues due to pressures of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"This contribution will support Headspace and Youthline to build a 'suicidesafe' community, providing crisis support for many on a daily basis.
"With over 6,500 people employed at Accent Group through our head office and store network across Australia and New Zealand, we aim to raise funds, positively influence attitudes, and support multiple charities through the Stamp Your Feet initiative.
"This is just the beginning of what we believe can have a significant impact," he said.
Recognising the impacts of COVID and the strain the pandemic has placed on people's mental health, Accent has chosen to support Headspace and Youthline, who in turn support young people and their families to become mentally healthy and engaged in their communities.
Customers, suppliers and partners are encouraged to donate to Stamp Your Feet at any participating Accent Group store or online throughout October.
Accent Group has 638 stores and counting across Australia and New Zealand including Hype DC, Platypus, The Athlete’s Foot, Skechers, Stylerunner, 4Workers and more.
