Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Shopbop and Revolve are some of the global stockist wins for Rumer since its launch.

Rumer will return to Afterpay Australian Fashion Week (AAFW) this year after debuting on the runway in 2021.

Rumer is a womenswear brand owned and operated by Nikita Sernack, founder of 15 year-old cult brand Nookie.

"Since the launch we've had many major international stockists adding Rumer to their brand mix,” she said.

“There's been incredible momentum. Seeing our designs in marquee retailers like Intermix, Revolve, shopbop, Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom, and locally in Coco & Lola has been a milestone moment for me and the team.

“Rumer was born throughout Covid … a time where even though time seemed to stand still, it enabled seeds to be planted and roots to grow.

“This was one of those ideas that had been brewing for a while and the last couple of years allowed it to gestate and become a reality.”

Inspiration for the elevated day to evening wear range came from childhood memories.

"I drew my mind back to the raw beauty of my grandparents' working farm and fell in love again with the nuances and character of the gloriously expansive Aussie outback and its vast red dirt roads to create this collection,” Sernack said.

"I'm a nature lover and found inspiration in the extraordinary flora and fauna which is reflected in Australian native floral prints and earthy, grounded tones throughout the range.

“Rumer is 100% designed and made in Australia with a dedication to natural fibres and creating pieces to last and be cherished, hence a commitment to sustainability.”

Meanwhile,Nookie continues to go from strength to strength.

“It is such a mainstay in the event wear, formal and party space,” Sernack said. “I remember thinking in the early days that I hoped one day every girl would have a Nookie dress in her wardrobe and a treasured memory that went with it.

“Fifteen years on we might be close to achieving that lofty dream, particularly in Australia. 

“The business is propelled by extremely strong partnerships with US retailers, specifically Revolve and Bloomingdales, and is complemented by an amazing online business and specialty wholesale accounts.”
