What is your previous experience in the industry?
I’ve worked across eCommerce and fashion retail for over ten years, mainly in the UK.
I was at House of Fraser when they launched their eCommerce website and have worked with brands such as Tesco, Barclays, Bupa and McArthurGlen designer outlets.
What's your day-to-day role?
Driving trade performance for Australia and New Zealand.
Supporting the team here in Sydney and working with colleagues in the UK, to connect the dots across retail, operations, customer experience and customer care and defining where best to invest to grow the business in Australia long term.
What is the most rewarding aspect?
Working with an extremely talented team, both in Australia and across the business. Being part of a global trading team adds a richness to the role that I really enjoy.
What is the most challenging aspect?
Time difference and location isn’t ideal, there is a one hour bracket a day where a call with New York, London and Sydney is doable. Skype, Whatsapp, FaceTime etc make it easier to communicate with teams in other offices, but nothing beats face to face.
What's an initiative you are most proud of?
In the past six months we have achieved some big wins for our customers, with Free Returns and price investment for Australia and now New Zealand.
What's the biggest change in the industry?
Mobile has disrupted the classic purchase funnel and has empowered both customers and retailers.
What's the biggest change coming?
Amazon launching in Australia.
