Flash shoe sales, Facebook discounts and a new website are all part of footwear retailer Windsor Smith's new online venture.

Bosses at the Melbourne-based business, founded in 1946, admit the 'world of e-tailing is taking over' so have ramped up the brand's online offering.

In conjunction with the website, their Facebook page offers flash sales, competitions and style secrets to keep the consumer up-to-date and create an interactive space with the brand.

The new website allows shoppers to create their own product wish list and invites customers to register for VIP treatment, which includes free delivery, discounts, information on the latest styles, special event invites, campaign sneak peeks and VIP shopping nights.

“Gone are the days of bricks and mortar shops, where purchasing a new wardrobe piece meant spending your weekends browsing through stores at your nearest shopping mall,” a Windsor Smith spokesman said. “Now consumers have the flexibility and luxury to shop from their computers at work, their couch, or even on the go with their iPhones - increasingly the world of e-tailing is taking over.”

Windsor Smith has four concept stores in Melbourne and its first NSW concept store opened at Westfield Chatswood, Sydney, last year.

The brand is also stocked in David Jones and Myer stores and in more than 100 boutique stockists in Australia and New Zealand.
