Westfield Doncaster, which houses over 70 fashion retailers and four department stores, has surpassed $1 billion in Moving Annual Total (MAT) sales in January 2023 for the first time.
MAT sales is the total value of a variable over the course of the previous 12 months.
Westfield Doncaster now joins six other Westfield destinations that achieved the milestone in 2022, with Scentre Group now owning seven of the top ten performing centres in Australia.
The Westfield centres that have exceeded $1 billion MAT Sales include Westfield Chermside (Qld), Westfield Bondi Junction (NSW), Westfield Fountain Gate (Vic), Westfield Sydney (NSW), Westfield Miranda (NSW), Westfield Carindale (Qld) and now Westfield Doncaster (Vic).
“Over the past 12 months, Westfield Carindale, Westfield Miranda and now Westfield Doncaster have attained this milestone for the first time,” Scentre Group director of business John Papagiannis said.
“The growth of sales across the Westfield platform is due to our sustained focus on driving customer visitation and curating the right mix of brands, in the right locations for our communities.
“By doing this, we’re able to create more opportunities for our business partners to interact with our customers.”
In 2022, Westfield Doncaster reportedly attracted 14.8 million customers. The centre includes 416 business partners and caters to a trade area population of over 740,000 residents.
The centre is anchored by four department stores including Myer, David Jones, Big W and TK Maxx as well as fashion brands such as Zara, Country Road and Peter Alexander.
