Venroy has claimed an Australian first with the opening of its latest store, announcing it is the first fashion retailer to completely offset its factory and operations for the project.
The brand partnered with green council member and carbon neutral company EMAC Constructions on the store.
The Byron Bay opening is the seventh site for the leisurewear brand, following the launch of a flagship site in Italy's Capri.
Designed in collaboration with long-time in-house architect, Sarah I’Anson, the store builds on the Piazza theme with a central fountain and classic architecture.
The floors and anchoring columns feature Travertine, a natural stone used by the Romans 2500 years ago.
Sourced objects include a one-off Murano glass wall sconce, a white Nesso 60’s inspired lamp, a Mantilo sofa and a 1960’s Cristal wall mirror.
Other pieces, such as steel porter’s trollies, are custom items that feature alongside display shelves, hang rails and a point-of-sale counter.
The counter also features a long steel trough with dual spouts, introducing the element of water into the Venroy store concept for the first time.
Venroy founder and director Sean Venturi said the store taps into his heritage.
"My vision for Byron Bay was to create a store which fosters a welcoming, community environment where people can shop, gather, and ultimately relax in the space.
"My Italian heritage always plays part in the Venroy identity, so creating an authentic environment which leans into this concept whilst responding to the uniqueness of Byron Bay was paramount."
