Global fashion business Uniqlo has opened a second store in the Gold Coast at the Robina Town Centre this week.
It adds to its first store in the city at Pacific Fair, and brings the brand’s total Australian store count to 39.
The new 902 square metre store will offer a full line-up of Uniqlo’s LifeWear apparel for men, women and kids, including the latest spring/summer collection as well as the upcoming Comptoir des Cotonniers collection with selected items available. In addition, Uniqlo will stock its UT range, including Final Fantasy, Sanrio and Star Wars history collections.
The store will also feature Uniqlo’s self-checkout machines, allowing customers to complete transactions automatically, eliminating the need to manually scan any items.
Alongside this, the store is also single-level, a shift from the traditional Uniqlo store designs.
“Thanks to outstanding support from the Gold Coast community, we are pleased to open our new store in Robina,” Uniqlo Australia CEO Fuminori Adachi said. “The Uniqlo Robina Town Centre team is excited to introduce you to our LifeWear philosophy and provide the exceptional customer service we’re known for.”
To mark the opening, a large Japanese lantern featuring the iconic UNIQLO logo will be displayed above a merchandising display with the latest UNIQLO collections, located nearby the new store within the centre. UNIQLO will also be running activities for children and families, where they can create their own artworks to take home and enjoy.
Robina Town Centre general manager Matt Powis welcomed Uniqlo to the centre.
“We’re certain that our customers are going to thoroughly enjoy their experience with this renowned international brand,” he said.
The store opened on November 28 at 10am, following an official Japanese ribbon-cutting ceremony and traditional taiko drumming performance as a nod to Uniqlo’s heritage. The brand offered free Uniqlo gift bags to the first 500 customers who spent $100 or more in the store, among other exclusive offers for opening day.
