Ragtrader can reveal the officeholder and share structure of Brett Blundy’s Léays venture, through company information documents obtained via ASIC.
Under the officeholder structure, Blundy will work alongside his business partner Ray Itaoui, with Timothy Dodd in the role of company secretary. Dodd is the global CFO of BBRC, Blundy’s investment business.
Itaoui, meanwhile, is the former CEO of Sanity, which was founded by Blundy, and was more recently the CEO of Best & Less, which he and Blundy took over in a shareholder takeover in 2023.
Blundy’s BBRC firm owns the largest portion of ordinary shares at Léays, with 10,000 issued at $100 per share. BBRC will own 7,251 shares in Léays, followed by 2,712 by Ray Itaoui’s company RRI Family Pty Limited.
Meanwhile, 37 shares are owned by Coloskye Pty Ltd – a firm that is run by Blundy’s sister Tracey, who is both shareholder and director of Coloskye.
Another 37 shares are owned by Blundy Superannuation Pty Ltd.
On the brand’s LinkedIn page, Léays – believed to be pronounced like liaise – is set to be a lingerie, sleepwear and beauty business.
"We’re customer-obsessed, we have a global vision and we’re set to change the way women feel about themselves from day one," the page reads.
“We’re assembling a world-class team to bring our vision to life. From design and product innovation to a best-in-class retail experience, we’re creating something that’s both inspiring and transformative.
“We’re looking for passionate, talented people who want to be part of a brand that will make an impact from day one. If you’re ready to shape the future of retail through lingerie, sleepwear and beauty, we’d love to hear from you."
Léays is reported to have between 201 and 500 employees, according to its LinkedIn page. The brand CEO is Linda Whitehead, who has held general manager roles at the Just Group, Specialty Fashion group and Levi Strauss.
The brand’s global CFO is Rachel Dos Santos, the former finance director at Zimmermann.
The former CEO of Honey Birdette, Julie Hastings, has been named as Léays’ chief operating officer.
The brand has been soft launched on LinkedIn as it hires up for key roles. This includes head of retail, with store manager job ads indicating that some of the initial stores are located in Brisbane and Parramatta in Sydney’s west.
