Global sportswear brand Under Armour (UA) has secured a partnership with major Australian sporting festival AusFitness Expo, which returns to Sydney on April 29 and 30 at Sydney’s International Convention Centre.
The partnership is part of a one-year agreement, which will initiate a pre-season activation of its annual UA COMBINE training competition at ‘The Arena’ - a dedicated area within the expo hall - which UA is the key sponsor.
This year’s UA COMBINE pre-season training competition will span across two days, and is designed for established and aspiring athletes as a lead up to the official event later this year.
It follows the reported success of its inaugural competition in September 2022.
“This partnership with AusFitness Expo and our UA COMBINE pre-season announcement is testament to ensuring the roots of our business are nurtured in a way that is natural to the category and its evolution," Under Armour ANZ MD Fernando Reani said.
“AusFitness Expo encapsulates everything positive about health and fitness, and we look forward to developing a meaningful partnership that benefits both parties, but first and foremost, our loyal community of current and emerging athletes.”
For the pre-season competition, winners will be awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd place across both the individual, men and women’s divisions and team heats. Each winner will receive a prize according to their placement, plus complimentary registration to compete in the official UA COMBINE 2023 competition in November.
The co-founders of Sydney fitness centre Baller Nation, Ellice Whichello and Dan Conn, will host the pre-season competition.
UA will also host a booth at the expo, for early registration for its UA COMBINE in 2023 and as an information hub.
Registration to UA COMBINE pre-season is free to anyone who purchases a ticket to AusFitness Expo.
