Activewear label Lorna Jane is set to be one of the first Australian brands to introduce anti-virus activewear to the market.
The business has worked for two years developing a chemical-free treatment that when applied to activewear, protects wearers against viruses and bacteria around gyms such as Staph.
The treatment - dubbed Lorna Jane Shield - will launch on the products included in the brand's July collection which drops online tonight at 5pm.
Lorna Jane Shield is a non-toxic mist that is sprayed onto the brand's fabrics and permanently adheres to them, stopping viruses and bacteria from reaching the wearer.
Founder Lorna Jane Clarkson said that the business knew that virus-protection would be a big concern for customers.
"As our stores re-opened we wanted to protect our customers.
"We knew that bacteria and virus transmission was at its highest when trying garments on so it was at that point we knew we had to fast-track Lorna Jane Shield and get it on our garments as soon as possible.
"With Lorna Jane Shield on our garments it meant that we were completely eliminating the possibility of spreading any deadly viruses," she said.
