Local fashion footwear brand Tony Bianco has revealed the secrets behind its stellar double-digit increase in online sales.
The brand, founded in 1972, is currently one of the most well-known women's shoe labels in Australia and recently confirmed a 64 per cent increase in its online shopping cart conversions and sales orders.
According to Tony Bianco director Adam Bianco, the positive rise can be attributed to its investment in a new delivery management platform which has transformed its operations.
The software, supplied by fulfilment company Temando, is a shipping extension for Magento which is helping fashion brands like Tony Bianco increase conversion rates and decrease shipping cost.
The software assists in dynamically displaying delivery options and costs to customers and is proven to increase conversion rates, with Tony Bianco a high-profile case in point.
“We went with Temando because their extension gives us the flexibility we need to manage multiple carriers in our system and display the delivery options our customers demand,” Bianco said.
“The guys at Temando are experts in all things shipping and e-commerce. We relied on them to complete the integration and everything was well managed. The Temando extension was very easy to integrate in our pre-existing Magento platform. Since integrating with Temando we have seen an increase in shopping cart conversions and sales orders have increased 64 per cent.”
Explaining the shipping extension operating mode, Temando said the shipping extension is a “smart system”.
“If a customer is logged in it knows where they live and only displays the delivery option and cost that is relevant to them, whether that be three-hour, next day, parcel lockers, or even collect from store. The customer simply picks the best option and cost that suits them and completes their purchase.
“What’s also pretty clever is that if you have a warehouse in Perth and one in Sydney and a customer purchases online, Temando will automatically pick the warehouse closest to the customer that has the goods in stock and this saves the retailer a lot of unnecessary costs.”
Magento is currently the system of choice for many e-commerce stores in Australia, with 42 per cent of the market penetration nationally.
