Tiffany & Co has opened its first airport store within Australia.
The jewellery retailer has debuted the site at Sydney International Airport's new luxury precinct in the TI terminal.
The opening comes at a crucial point for the iconic global chain.
Tiffany & Co recently reported its steepest dive in quarterly sales since the GFC, with same-store sales in the Asia Pacific region slumping 15%.
The new 250 square metre store is Tiffany’s eighth location in Australia.
Tiffany & Co Oceania MD Glen Schlehuber said the newly designed Sydney International Airport is a perfect fit for the brand.
“We look forward to inviting everyone to experience our renowned jewellery collections, with a superior level of service that has distinguished Tiffany & Co. for over 175 years.”
The store features a six meter double front façade in Tiffany blue, a luggage room and salon for private appointments.
The salon also allows customers to enjoy a glass of champagne from the store butler before travelling.
Another feature is a large window that looks onto the tarmac, allowing customers to take in plane arrivals.
It also showcases design features inspired from the New York flagship, such as a gold leaf chandelier and interior wall covering, hand painted with a magnolia design.
