Australian luxury fashion rental platform The Volte has appointed Pete Harrison as head of global growth and business operations.

Harrison has two decades of experience in agency, media, entertainment and technology and has held senior leadership roles at NBCUniversal, Salesforce, News Corp Australia’s Medium Rare, Hearst and ACP/Bauer Media Group (now known as Are Media).

In his new role, he will oversee the global growth and development of the peer-to-peer rental platform, with a primary focus on the expansion into the UK market. Harrison will work closely with chief brand and strategy officer Kellie Hush and CEO and co-founder Bernadette Olivier.

The Volte was co-founded in 2008 by former lawyer Bernadette Olivier. Today, the rental platform reportedly has over 300,000 active monthly users, more than 70,000 listings and over 5,000 monthly orders.

Harrison’s most recent role prior to joining The Volte was head of strategy and growth for creative communications agency EVH, where he developed the position and visibility for the agency in Australia and US regions. 

Based out of Sydney and Los Angeles, Pete led all integrated media, talent and marketing strategy, planning and execution across the agency portfolio of brands including Alex Perry, Aesop, Bang & Olufsen, Fliteboard, Haydenshapes, Hermes, Range Rover, SIR. and Zegna.

The media and branding expert holds a public communications degree from the University of Technology, Sydney majoring in advertising and PR, along with a diploma in marketing, communications, advertising and applied communication from the International Advertising Association, New York.
