Ethical fashion brand The Social Outfit has appointed Amy Low as its new chief executive officer, effective February 3, 2025.

Low has been a key board member of The Social Outfit since 2015 and has served as vice chair since 2020.

Her recent roles include being the global marketing director at Futurity Brands, driving key growth for the Piping Hot brand. Futurity also manages the Paul Frank innerwear brand and subsidiary ranges including Anima.

Prior to this, Low was the brand and marketing director at Saban Brands, an American-based brand management firm.

The Social Outfit confirmed Low’s CEO appointment in a statement to LinkedIn, noting that her accomplishments include implementing transformational strategies, expanding global distribution and developing an impact framework covering sustainable development.

“Amy's expertise in retail, fashion, and consumer brands, combined with her values-driven leadership, makes her an excellent fit for our organisation,” The Social Outfit shared.

“With a background in scaling brands, driving business transformation, and aligning sustainability with commercial success, she is well-equipped to lead The Social Outfit into its next chapter.”

The Social Outfit's core mission is to support the careers of refugee women through employment within the business, particularly in production. The brand has a studio in Newtown, Sydney, with its workroom in Marrickville in Sydney’s inner west.

“Amy is eager to bring her experience in brand development, retail growth, and product strategy to The Social Outfit,” the company’s statement continued. “She sees significant potential to further establish us as a leading fashion brand and deepen our social impact. Her understanding of our unique market position and her experience in driving commercial outcomes will contribute meaningfully to our growth ambitions."

As CEO, Low will oversee all aspects of The Social Outfit's operations, including commercial growth, ethical manufacturing, retail and online stores, and social impact programs.
