Emerging Australian label The One Six has launched its debut collection called Premiere, made from deadstock, organic and certified fabrics.
Six pieces make up the new capsule, including an oversized wide shoulder linen blazer, wide leg linen pants, a shoulder pad t-shirt, a satin maxi skirt, an oversized maxi shirt dress and an oversized white shirt.
The range is available in Oekotex certified 100% cotton and European flax linen, and 100% deadstock satin, silk, and viscose.
Colourways include cobalt, butterscotch, ecru, and black, as well as a watercolour print in oversized violet or black stripe.
The range is sourced, designed and made in Australia, with prices ranging from $129 for the Essential Shoulder Pad T-Shirt to $589 for the Linen and Silk Wide Shoulder Oversized Blazer.
The One Six founder and creative director Shiv Rennie said the core concepts of the capsule comes from personal experience.
“Being a working mum of three little humans, I felt overwhelmed by 'decision fatigue' each day when trying to choose what to wear,” Rennie said. “And as a conscious consumer seeking ethical and sustainably made options, I couldn't find any one label that would help me address that challenge.
“So, during lockdown, I decided to create what I couldn't find – luxurious, effortless pieces in natural fabrics, curated into a capsule of high rotation pieces for everyday frequency of wear.”
The Premiere capsule took over 18 months to create, and offers limited edition pieces – some in tiny batches of just five pieces.
“What that means is that, along with having a beautiful garment that is one of only a handful made, women who wear The One Six are being kinder to the environment, supporting more conscious fashion, and helping contribute to local industry,” Rennie said.
