Brisbane-born jewellery business The Moissanite Company has officially rebranded itself to TMC Fine Jewellers, four years after it was founded.

The cultured gemstone business was born in mid-2021 by couple Makayla and Tom Donovan with just $10,000 in savings. The business produced nearly 500 rings before Christmas of that year.

Annual revenue for the business has grown steady, projected to hit $13.7 million in its fourth year.

The newly renamed business has two showrooms, one in Brisbane and another in Sydney, and an online website. Its website has already been updated with the name, with stores being revamped over the next week. The Brisbane showroom fit out is being completed for consults this weekend followed by Sydney next week.

“TMC Fine Jewellers has always been about offering couples the experience we once searched for,” co-founder Makayla Donovan said. “We built this brand on the belief that modern luxury should be both ethical and attainable.

“As our industry evolved, so did we. Our clients began referring to us simply as ‘TMC’, after our iconic brand-mark – and we realised it was time to embrace that identity fully, bringing us into our new era.

“This isn’t just a re-brand – it’s an evolution shaped by our incredible community. This rebrand honours where we started but also looks ahead to the future.”
