The Iconic has appointed Andrew Poole to its newly created role, the general manager of sport.
Poole joins the business after returning from the US, where he was senior sales director for Nike Sportswear.
He joins The Iconic as the business doubles down on its sports category, following continued growth over the past 12 months, which included an increase in assortment and amplified marketing investment in full funnel integrated campaigns.
"I am extremely honoured to be joining The Iconic, to lead the sports category team," Poole said of his appointment.
"The opportunity to apply my retail and eCommerce sports experience to a disruptive retailer like The Iconic makes this role an incredibly exciting prospect.
"The Iconic has driven unrivalled customer loyalty and market growth and I look forward to supporting them as they continue on this impressive trajectory," he said.
In his role at Nike, Poole drove commercial functions and growth for the business through a customer-centric market strategy, recruiting and optimising high performance teams.
He is also credited as being integral in the creation of Nike Australia’s eCommerce business and has also worked for Unilever Australia.
The Iconic chief category officer Gayle Burchell welcomed the addition of Poole to the team.
"We are thrilled to welcome Andrew to The Iconic team after an extensive global search to fill the newly created role of General Manager, Sport.
"By being truly customer centric and curating a world-class offering, our sports category is an integral part of our business.
"We can’t wait for Andrew to bring his wealth of expertise as we deliver further strength to this category," she said.
Poole will commence in the new role this month.
