Online fashion retailer The Iconic has turned two, with nearly one million customers receiving its goods across Australia and New Zealand to date.

Other significant milestones for The Iconic, which is offering customers 30 per cent off top brands to celebrate, include:

  • Over 11 million Australians visiting www.theiconic.com.au
  • 400,000 Australians becoming fans of The Iconic's Facebook page, with the most liked post receiving 31,000 likes (Fiebiger shoes)
  • Search volume for “The Iconic” increasing by more than 4000 per cent with over 200 searches per hour.

Managing director and co-founder Adam Jacobs said the company is aiming to build a sustainable business model this year.

The company made headlines last year after posting a $45 million loss within in around 17 months of operation.

"We are seeing our strategy pay off with very positive results over the past six months, particularly marked by the incredibly successful launch of our iOS app," Jacobs said.

"Each month is showing our strongest financial results to date – a reflection of our growing customer loyalty."

“Since day one, we have been focused on delivering the best local online shopping experience through investing into and developing the Australian ecommerce ecosystem.

"The Iconic has created more than 300 jobs for Australians including over 50 warehouse operators in our 13,000 sqm Wetherill Park facility and over 20 customer service staff in Surry Hills; won in the Online Retail Industry Awards two years in a row; and delighted nearly one million Australian and New Zealand customers.

"These are some fantastic achievements for a company only two years old.”

Newly appointed CEO Patrick Schmidt said this will continue into the future.

Founded in late 2011, The Iconic offers 500 brands and over 45,000 products.
