Sydney shopping precinct The Galeries is set to host a large-scale sculpture, Light Arc, featuring the work of Australian contemporary artist, Elliot Routledge during June.

The sculpture will light up with Routledge's work, which has been featured in galleries and murals globally, and will celebrate public art and culture.

The Galeries centre manager Kristy Hoare said that the business is thrilled to be supporting public art.

"We’re proud to support art in the public space at The Galeries and we’re excited to be a hub of creativity for the Sydney community.

"The Light Arc sculpture is on display throughout June and we hope to see it become an exciting meeting place within The Galeries for our customers, retailers and the broader community."

The sculpture will also be accompanied by an interactive game dubbed Art Parts, which has been specifically designed to complement the piece. Customers will be able to use their smartphones to scan, play and win up to $60,000 worth of prizes by scanning QR codes to unlock a puzzle featuring Routledge's artwork.

Customers will be able to win prizes from brands such as Incu, Grill'd, The Grounds of The City, Lotus Dining and Muji.

Routledge said that the game encourages consumers to immerse themselves in the artwork and space.

"There’s something great about The Galeries as a precinct, with its laneways, shops and restaurants alongside public art.

"These new works are going to encourage everyone to immerse themselves in the incredible space."

The sculpture will be in place at The Galeries from June 1 to June 30.
