Sydney Airport’s luxury precinct has welcomed six new stores recently since the initial launch of 10 high-end fashion retailers earlier this year.
The six new stores include Louis Vuitton, Celine, Dior, Gucci, Valentino and Australia’s first Gentle Monster store, selling eyewear.
This brings its current total store count to 16, including the initial stores: Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Bvlgari, Hermès, Loewe, Moncler, Prada, Rolex and Saint Laurent.
The precinct is expected to operate 20 luxury brands upon completion in mid-2023, with Tiffany & Co opening by the end of 2022, while Cartier and Versace will open by mid-2023. Heinemann Tax & Duty Free will also unveil an expanded offering.
The new Gentle Monster store is housed in a futuristic space featuring a large kinetic installation designed by the brand’s Robotics Lab, as well as an LED installation in the store façade showcasing art curated by the brand.
Dior is a new addition to Sydney Airport, offering a selection of iconic women’s leather goods, shoes and accessories from creative director Maria Grazia Churi, as well as the latest menswear collections.
The Valentino store is its first standalone airport boutique in Southeast Asia, selling a range of bags, shoes and accessories and eyewear, while Celine brings its collection to Sydney Airport for the first time.
Gucci has unveiled an expanded store footprint spanning over 225sqm, offering the full range of Gucci’s collections, and the option to click and collect.
And Louis Vuitton has opened its first travel retail store in the Southern Hemisphere, bringing a selection of premium women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, shoes, leather goods, accessories, watches, jewellery and fragrances.
Sydney Airport executive GM of commercial Mark Zaouk said this marks the second phase in its ambitious retail strategy.
“Following a challenging few years for the travel industry, it’s great to see passengers heading overseas once more,” Zaouk said. I’m thrilled we’re able to deliver a luxury offering as part of their unique experience at Sydney Airport.
“With 16 luxury stores now open in T1 International and a further four to open at the end of 2022 and mid-2023, we’re on track to offer the largest and most extensive collection of luxury travel retail anywhere in the Southern Hemisphere.”
