Global sportswear brand On is preparing to open its first Australian retail store in Melbourne on October 5 along Little Bourke Street.

The new 390 square metre flagship will house the brand’s core product categories across run, train, lifestyle, trail, kids and bags.

The timing of the store opening is a week before the Melbourne Marathon on October 13.

"As a global sports hub, Melbourne is home to a passionate community of runners and athletes, and our store aims to be a dynamic space for connection and engagement,” On APAC general manager Rebecca Cai said. “Here, both locals and international visitors will have the opportunity to explore our cutting-edge innovations and extensive product range."

Internationally, this brings On’s total store count to 42. The sportswear brand will also host local community activities, including a weekly gathering every Thursday night called the On Run Club.

The brand is also gearing up to bring its ‘Thanks For Playing’ initiative in January 2025 in line with the Australian Open.

According to On, the event “aims to bring the pro experience to local tennis clubs.”

Attendees will get fitted out with the same gear as On’s professional players, while official announcers will call the matches.

On was born in the Swiss Alps in 2010, and is currently present in more than 60 countries globally. The brand has already been selling through Australia via online, and through local retailers such as Hype DC.
