Swiss watchmaker Swatch has opened its second retail store in Westfield Chermside, 14 kilometres north of Brisbane CBD.

It now brings the retailer’s total Australian store count to seven, which also includes a store in Queen Street Mall in Brisbane, Collins Street and South Wharf in Melbourne, Pitt Steet Mall and Westfield Bondi in Sydney and Murray Street Mall in Perth.

It follows similar retail pushes by Uniqlo and Paspaley in the Sunshine State in recent months, with sources pointing to the upcoming Brisbane 2032 Summer Olympics for the influx of retailers.

Global online fashion retailer Shein also launched its first-ever pop-up in Brisbane earlier this year, following similar activations in both Sydney and Melbourne in 2023.

Swatch’s new Brisbane store covers a footprint of 72 square metres, with a floor-to-ceiling glass facade at the entrance and large LED screens.

The new store will feature its key collections including classic styles to latest launches including Swatch Neon, Swatch Art Journey, and its ‘Bioceramic What If?’ collections.

The store concept is similar to Swatch’s typical retail style, which also includes concrete finishes from the floors to the walls interspersed by red display boxes.
