Apparel and lifestyle conglomerate Super Retail Group will give a 5.25 per cent increase in wages to approximately 96 per cent of its retail team members in FY25 following the endorsement of 2024 retail and CCC enterprise agreement (EA).

The final 4 per cent - covering the business’ team members working at its outdoor wear subsidiary Macpac - will receive a 6.95 per cent increase as they join the 2024 EA.

According to Super Retail, Macpac’s retail team members were not covered by the company’s 2018 EA and were therefore previously paid according to the General Retail Industry Award rates.

The EA has a three-year term and will become operative from 14 July 2024. For FY26 and FY27, all retail staff members - which includes sporting brand Rebel and motoring and lifestyle businesses Supercheap Auto and BCF - will get a 3.25 per cent lift in wages.

The EA applies to retail store wages and excludes retail management. Eligible team members will also receive a one-off payment equivalent to 2.75 per cent of their annual base pay with payment to be made prior to the end of FY24.

Prior to the EA, Super Retail made a 3 per cent pay increase to retail team member base pay rates on July 2, 2023.

“We believe the enterprise agreement represents a fair and reasonable outcome for the group and our team members,” group CEO and MD Anthony Heraghty said.

The latest news comes as the group’s four retail brands report mixed results in year-to-date sales, with Macpac sales up 2 per cent for the first 43 weeks, while sporting brand Rebel recorded a 2 per cent fall.

Supercheap Auto year-to-date sales lifted by 3 per cent, while BCF scored the highest percentage lift of 5 per cent.
