Australian luggage brand Strand has opened its latest flagship store within Westfield Bondi Junction. 

According to the retailer, the opening comes in response to a surge in demand across Strand’s growing portfolio, with Bondi being the perfect location to debut a new digitally-led retail concept. 

“I’m thrilled to announce Strand’s new flagship opening at Bondi, celebrating our unique proposition, and creating a destination for the world’s most renowned fashion travel brands,” Strand group CEO Felicity McGahan said. “It also reflects our ongoing commitment to evolving our business, staying fresh, and remaining relevant.

"The creation and curation of our brands ensures that there’s something for every generation and budget. Travel continues to play a key role in our wellbeing, and Strand wants to be a part of our customers’ life journey and adventures.” 

The Bondi store features defined zones, housing curated travel edits and exclusive product from global brands such as Antler, Nere, Samsonite and Guess - with Nere being under the Strand umbrella and Antler being a separate but connected subsidiary. 

It will also showcase leather handbags from Evity, styles from Laura Jones, and nylon ranges from Strand’s new youth brand AYA. 

“We want our customers to feel the optimism and joy of travel and know that we have the perfect bag for every journey they take, at the most accessible price point,” McGahan said.

“Strand’s vision is to amplify travel as a lifestyle for style-conscious and design-savvy shoppers worldwide. Whilst our plans are global, this vision starts here in Australia—our home base and blueprint for success.”

The new Bondi flagship opening is the latest in a series of strategic expansion moves for Strand. This year alone, the brand has opened several new stores and refurbished a few others, bringing its total footprint to 270 stores across Australia and New Zealand.
