Australian underwear brand Step One has raised over $250,000 through the sales of its limited-edition Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) range.

Through 2024, Step One donated $5 for every pair sold to SLSA. They also invested in advertising to promote the cause and the summer safety message to help reduce drownings.

Step One has now added a new Nippers - or kids - range to its SLSA collection in a bid to raise more in its second year of partnership with the national organisation.

“I am so pleased with how the first year of our partnership went,” Step One founder and CEO Greg Taylor said.

“I grew up rowing and swimming at the beach, and I, like many Australians, understand how important beach safety is. To be able to contribute means the world to me.

“We had such great feedback with the range we created for the partnership, so we are thrilled to be able to add a kids range this year to help us raise more funds.”

Surf Life Saving Australia is a community cause committed to reducing coastal drownings. Every day, their surf lifesavers rescue 30 people and conduct 451 preventative actions every hour.

“Our volunteers do a phenomenal job of keeping our beaches safe, but it wouldn’t be possible without organisations like Step One,” SLSA CEO Adam Weir said.

“We are thrilled to be working with Step One to give our surf lifesavers the support they need, from vital training and rescue equipment to chafe-free underwear.”
