Australian activewear brand Stax has expanded its retail portfolio into Queensland, opening a new store at Pacific Fair Shopping Centre on the Gold Coast.

The store opening over last weekend reportedly drew crowds of over 400 people.

“When Stax showed interest in opening their first Queensland store here at Pacific Fair, we were beyond thrilled,” Pacific Fair centre GM Shaine Beveridge said.

“We have been watching the increase in activewear and athleisure trends over the last 5 years, and are proud to have grown our retail offering in the space in order to accommodate our shoppers.”

“Welcoming Stax to Pacific Fair is another great step in our retail growth journey, and we couldn’t be prouder to house such a beautiful store with such high-quality apparel.”

Stax joins other apparel brands opening stores in the centre, including the return of premium fashion brand Cue and footwear brand New Balance last month, and Balenciaga in July.

The store’s design has been described as ‘modern minimalist’, and is said to be influenced by the architectural styles of LA, New York and Paris.

"We developed the concept with the essence of the Stax brand in mind - creating a community-driven, inviting environment,” Stax co-founder Don Robertson said. “We wanted the store to reflect the elements of the earth, using minimalism, natural woods, stone, metals, and plants to create a harmonious, calming atmosphere."

Stax joins other brands such as Aje Athletica, Style Runner, and Nude Lucy at Pacific Fair as part of the centre’s athleisure and activewear retail offerings.

The activewear brand now has nine stores across Australia following the new opening, including four in Sydney, two in Melbourne, and another two in Western Australia.
