Simon Schofield and Sarah Rovis have departed Country Road Group (CRG), as the company shifts strategic direction.

Simon Schofield has exited as managing director of Witchery, a CRG subsidiary, after being part of the Group for 13 years. In addition to Witchery, he held senior leadership roles at Trenery and Country Road.

Sarah Rovis was the managing director of Mimco and has held the role for seven years.

CRG has replaced both positions with general manager level roles, and a recruitment process is currently underway to fill them.

A spokesperson for CRG confirmed the news with Ragtrader, saying both Schofield and Rovis have made a “valuable impact” on the company. They said this is part of a major strategic shift for the brands.

“We're investing in building the capacity and capability of our supply chain, and that's to enable the growth of our brands in the future,” they said. “So we've made some changes to bring in capabilities and skills to be able to deliver on that future growth.”

Part of these changes include the opening of new roles across sourcing and supply, according to the spokesperson.

"We've also with elevated some of the roles of our designers," they said. "We're building the resilience of the supply chain so that we can grow, and we are just continuing to invest for growth."

The restructuring has also led to redundancies, which the spokesperson declined to further comment on. According to Australian Financial Review, the number of redundancies is around 40.

Amid the restructure, Ty Symonds was promoted to general manager of home at Country Road, while Paris Katsieris was promoted to general manager of apparel and accessories.
