Showpo CEO Jane Lu has praised the work of fashion charity Thread Together, after visiting one of the charity's stores.

Posting to LinkedIn, Lu described her experience in store and said that it was touching to see the impact brand new clothes had on vulnerable Aussies.

"We joined Thread Together at one of their stores to help style and dress those that are in need.

"The clothes are all brand new and donated from many retailers like ourselves, which also means that they don't end up in landfill.

"Thread Together has stores set up which donates clothes, by giving those in need the in-store experience of shopping and actually choosing what they want. A luxury that so many of take for granted.

"When the women first came in, they were shy.

"But when they started to try on the beautiful clothes, their eyes lit up.

"They proudly paraded their new outfits in the store, and walked with shopping bags in their hands, beaming with confidence. It was truly beautiful and touching," she said.

Lu's post follows significant growth for Thread Together over the past few months, having recently launched two new mobile wardrobes in Queensland and opened a larger warehouse in Sydney.

Lu added that her experience made her proud to know that Showpo is partnering with such a valuable organisation.

"Showpo was built on the belief of making fashion and trends accessible to everyone.

"Donating to Thread Together means that we can help provide access to fashion to people most in need, restoring dignity and hope when they need it most.

"The amount of work that Thread Together is incredible, and today was just a small glimpse into that for us and it made us so excited and proud to be able to partner with such an incredible organisation," she said.
