CMO of fast fashion online retailer Showpo, Mark Baartse has been recognised as one of Australia's top 50 CMOs at cmo.com.au's annual award.
Baartse has led Showpo's marketing strategy since 2016, overhauling the customer experience and using marketing strategy as a vehicle to drive growth and revenue.
"This award reflects the work the team has done over the last few years on the complete customer journey, from our increasingly heavy investment in artificial intelligence to our deep focus on the customer experience," he said.
"We now have AI solutions behind our CRM, search, social and visual merchandising.
"Despite the hype of AI, we are still seeing the need for more people.
"It's exciting to expand the team across a range of areas including brand, CRM, social and digital."
Since joining the retailer, Baartse has led the team to a series of major commercial wins across his tenure.
He is looking to more than double the size of its marketing team over the next quarter.
Earlier this year, he was the first CMO shortlisted in the Online Retail Industry Awards for the industry recognition title.
