Diversified marketing company IVE Group has become the first uniform supplier to sign up to Australian clothing stewardship scheme Seamless.
The scheme was officially launched into operation in July 2024, aiming to create a circular clothing industry by 2030.
As a member, IVE Group will pay a 4 cent per garment levy to fund Seamless’ actions in the circular space.
IVE Group supplies uniforms to a range of industries across the retail, hospitality, security and lifestyle sectors, alongside providing other services.
"We're delighted to become a member of Seamless – it’s a really important step for IVE and our clients, and speaks to our collective approach to sustainability and circularity,” IVE Group chief people and sustainability officer Olivia Tyler said.
“The challenges in the Australian clothing industry are considerable but there’s real strength in coming together and pooling resource, expertise and innovation to collectively drive change.
“Partnering with Seamless will give us the platform and tools to transform how uniforms are designed, produced, delivered and most importantly, treated at end-of-life.
“It’s an entire overhaul of how it’s currently done and we’re doing what it takes to lead this fresh and much needed approach in the space.”
Seamless GM of membership and marketing Karen Thomas welcomed IVE Group as the first uniform provider to join the scheme.
"IVE’s responsible leadership and commitment to innovation is truly inspiring, and together we can drive continuous improvement and a brighter more sustainable future for the clothing industry, including uniforms,” Thomas said.
Since launching into operation, Seamless has over 300 brands and businesses signed onto the scheme.
