Iconic Australian designer and Ragtrader Live speaker Peter Morrissey has revealed details on his latest collaborative venture with discount department store Big W.
Morrissey initially joined forces with Big W in 2009 to launch the ‘Man’ and ‘Woman’ by Peter Morrissey collections nationwide, but has now confirmed the debut of a new collection range at Big W, to be titled simply ‘Peter Morrissey’.
The new ranges, set to drop from August, include womenswear, menswear, accessories and footwear, and will also be the designer's most extensive range to be launched exclusively with Big W to date.
Commenting on his continued alliance with Big W, Morrisey said the partnership is a perfect fit.
“I’m thrilled that Big W is now the exclusive home of my iconic Peter Morrissey brand which has always stood for quality and style but now stands for affordability as well,” he said.
Key pieces from the women’s range include a Chanel-inspired bouclé jacket, long-sleeve blouse in a geometric stripe print, cool block stripe dress, and a split skirt complete with belt.
Feminine designs embody ‘Miss Morrissey’, including gathered skirts, dresses and belts, with an oriental floral print featured in a v-neck top, skirt and belted dress.
A classic black jacket, fitted white and indigo jeans and tops in pop colours of red and pink also feature, to accommodate a more casual look.
The footwear collection includes a Peter Morrissey ‘Lolita’ heel, in various colours of red, black and a geometric black and white print, with an 11cm heel height and delicate ankle strap.
The Peter Morrissey men’s collection offers a high quality range of suiting and shirts designed with an emphasis on fabric and fit.
Slim fit shirts in classic French navy and black make up the bones of the men’s collection, alongside a selection of fashion fit shirts in a variety of colours and prints.
The hero in the range is a three-piece-suit in charcoal, complete with a patch and lining inside the jacket.
Quality leather-lined men’s shoes in three sophisticated styles round off the range.
Prices range from $30 to $70 for the Peter Morrissey men’s range, with the Peter Morrissey women’s range priced from $14.98 to $39.
