Rip Curl has signed on as the official retail partner for a $100 million surf park development in Perth, Western Australia.

Located in Central Cockburn, the development is expected to attract over one million visitors per year when it opens in late 2026. The facility will offer waves for all abilities, high-performance training facilities and host major sporting and cultural events.

Rip Curl will utilise the partnership to establish a flagship store offering wetsuits, apparel, surfboards, surf hardware and branded park merchandise alongside Western Australian surfwear brands. Rip Curl will also collaborate with park operator Aventuur on surfing competitions, community activations and demo days.

Rip Curl CEO Brooke Farris said the flagship store represents a major shift into Western Australia.

"Our collaboration with Aventuur will enable us to deliver the best of Rip Curl’s products and innovations at this vibrant new destination, and meaningfully connect with the community through the continued support of West Australian athletes, grassroots organisations and events.

"As a proud West Australian, I’m excited for us to create a premier retail experience for local surfers, those learning to surf and park visitors that will see everyone having loads of fun in the water.”

The Perth Surf Park is expected to create over 300 jobs during construction and contribute more than $250 million to the state's economy during its operating life.

With all development and environmental approvals now received, construction is expected to commence later in 2024, ahead of the park’s expected opening in 2026.
