Reebok has announced that it is committed to reducing the use of virgin polyester from its material mix, with the aim to eliminate it altogether by 2024.

The news follows the introduction of its [Ree]grow collection to the pacific market, which includes the brand's first 100% plant-based shoe.

Speaking on the brand's sustainability mission, Reebok Pacific brand director Arnna Johnstone said that the business is focusing on two key pillars.

"[In October] Reebok welcomed our [Ree]grow Collection to the Pacific market, introducing our first ever 100% plant-based shoe created with sustainably sourced castor beans and eucalyptus trees.

"We are focusing our sustainability efforts under two pillars: [Ree]grow, which focuses on the creation of products from natural materials; and [Ree]cycled, which focuses on creating products using recycled or repurposed materials," she said.

The business has also welcomed a new VP of creative direction, Kerby Jean Raymond, whose concepts will begin to be seen in the product and marketing channels in 2022.
