Sporting retailer Rebel is doubling down on its Victorian footprint, opening two new stores in two regional towns.
Rebel will open one store in Wodonga, near Albury, on the Victoria/New South Wales border, alongside another store in Delacombe in the Ballarat region. Both stores will open on November 28 this week.
The Wodonga store covers 1,800 square metres and will stock key brands such as Lorna Jane, Ell/Voo, Nike and Muscle Nation. The store will also be home to a Basketball Experience Zone, where customers can trial their sporting selections before purchasing.
Across opening weekend, Wodonga residents will have the opportunity to meet basketball superstar and five-time Olympian Lauren Jackson, who will be in-store between 10:30am to 11:30am on Saturday, November 30.
In addition, across the weekend, Rebel will offer the first 100 Rebel Active customers a voucher worth between $10 and $500 as a lucky door prize to be spent in store that day.
Rebel has also pledged to donate four $500 gift cards to local sporting clubs. For every purchase made during the first two weeks of opening, customers are encouraged to vote for any local sporting club of their choice to receive said gift card.
“While expanding our regional footprint is important in solidifying Rebel’s position as Australia’s go-to retailer for sporting equipment, it’s also fantastic knowing we are doing our part to ensure that Australia’s next great sporting superstar has access to the gear they need to chase their sporting dreams,” Rebel GM for portfolio strategy Ryan Pittaway said.
“We’re excited to open our new store in Wodonga and are looking forward to welcoming the community to visit us soon.”
The new store in Delacombe also covers 1,800 square metres, and will also house a Basketball Experience Zone. It is the second retail location in the greater Ballarat region.
The opening weekend will also feature similar lucky door prizes alongside the pledge to gift four $500 gift cards to local sporting clubs.
“We’re excited to be opening our second store in Ballarat at our new location in Delacombe,” Pittaway said. “We’re always looking to enhance the shopping experience, so we’re inviting residents to come and visit the new store, shoot some hoops at our Basketball Experience Zone and check out some of the latest gear this weekend.”
