Australian womenswear label Rebecca Vallance is turning its attention to the United Kingdom and Europe following a hit of organic growth.

Speaking with Ragtrader, founder Rebecca Vallance Gasan said the UK and Europe represents 53 per cent of the company’s entire wholesale market. This is made up for 122 stockists, which Vallance said is constantly evolving and changing as the brand explores new regions.

“We are focused on building a global vertical footprint underpinned by a successful international wholesale business,” Vallance said, noting this also includes the United States.

“The UK and Europe are a big focus for us moving forward as we have seen huge growth there as it represents 53 per cent of our wholesale.”

The global growth also comes off the back of a surge in online sales, which lifted by 52 per cent a year since COVID, with international growing at 62 per cent a year.

International makes up 46 per cent of Rebecca Vallance’s entire sales mix, with North America at 24 per cent, with the UK and Europe at 16 per cent.

Meanwhile, its brick-and-mortar stores have grown 66 per cent a year since COVID, which has continued to grow according to Vallance. This includes the recent opening of a new flagship store in Sydney CBD, at the Strand Arcade.

“Rebecca Vallance currently has six stores across Australia with three new stores set to open over the next four months,” Vallance confirmed.

“Over the next four months we will open three new stores, across Sydney, Perth, and Melbourne with many more scheduled to open for 2025. Rebecca Vallance has a plan to reach 20 stores in the next few years both in Australia and internationally.

“Our focus is strategic growth across both our direct-to-consumer business as well as our international wholesale.”

For the Strand Arcade boutique, Vallance said this has been designed in collaboration with Sydney-based interior design firm Archer Design.

“The concept, design, and layout of the boutique strikes a harmonious balance between restrained, classic elegance with a contemporary twist,” she said. “Crisp white and contrasting back design details with complementary marble finishes provide the perfect backdrop for the brands luxurious collections to truly shine.

“We also have an incredible team across the Australian stores that go above and beyond to ensure the customers needs are always met and allow them to feel comfortable but also open to experiments with different looks depending on the occasion.”

Rebecca Vallance was launched in 2011, showing her first collection in Paris and immediately securing Harvey Nichols as a stockist.

As the business began to evolve internationally, Rebecca returned to Australia and launched the brand locally in 2012.
