Pumpkin Patch has appointed a new chief executive, with merchandise and brand director Di Humphries moving up the ranks.

Humphries, former head at clothing chain Glassons, will step into the role immediately.

Humphries replaces Neil Cowie, who resigned late last month to head up Mitre 10.

Chairwoman Jane Freeman said Humphries has made a significant contribution since joining the company last year.

“Di has been instrumental in the development of the product-related strategies that are so important to the future of the business,” she said.

Ms Humphries said she will remain involved in product and brand development.

“My immediate focus will remain on product design, branding, and the supply chain, which are key to delivering kids and parents around the world the brand experience they expect of Pumpkin Patch,” she said.

In July, the company announced it expected full-year profit to drop as much as 35 per cent due to intense competition in Australia.
