Australian suiting brand Politix has ventured into Australian wool in its latest collection.
Politix head of design Paul Burden said the winter collection includes five suiting options made from 95% wool and 5% elastane, with additional wool shirts.
Burden said the brand will continue to introduce premium fabrications in its ranges.
“Our customers are increasingly looking for quality fabrications, adding longevity to their wardrobe with investment pieces,” Burden said. “ Our new Wool Collection, made from Australian wool, is another important step for Politix as we evolve the brand to meet the demands of our customers.
The brand's current range offers linen, 100% Australian cotton and organically grown cotton styles.
“As we look to introduce a greater proportion of natural and premium fabrications, this has led to us casting the net wider to find suppliers that will meet the requirements of the business,” he said.
“We have strong long-lasting partnerships with the makers of our products who are on this journey of premiumisation with us.”
Burden said the new venture into wool started with the relaunch of the brand last September, which included a revised brand identity.
He said Politix and its parent company Country Road Group collectively value supporting local Australian industries.
“I’m grateful to work with a talented team of designers, some of whom have been with the business for a very long time,” Burden said.
“We have recently promoted two of our most experienced designers, Brad McLennan and Marissa Falting to Senior Designer roles and in doing so, restructured the design department to support the new range direction.”
