NNT has appointed doctor, author and TV personality Dr Preeya Alexander (pictured) as the healthcare uniform brand’s first-ever ambassador. Workwear Group Uniforms head of merchandise Vicky Wynn-Williams said this will help the brand connect with more healthcare professionals in a relatable context.

“[Dr Preeya] is the embodiment of the healthcare worker we try to attract, and now via our partnership can authentically talk to the features and benefits of our product,” Wynn-Williams said.

“Whether in the clinic or on the school pickup run, NNT scrubs guarantee movement, fit, fabric, protection and performance.”

According to the latest census data from 2021, there are over 1.7 million people working in healthcare and social assistance in Australia.

Occupations that experienced the strongest growth since 2016 include aged and disabled carers (up 72% to 227,535), occupational therapists (up 57% to 19,429), and audiologists and speech pathologists (up 49% to 13,613).

Census data also showed an increase in mental health professionals, with psychologists and psychiatrists both increasing by over 40% since 2016.

There were also 260,000 registered nurses, lifting by 19% between 2016 to 2021.

Dr Preeya said her appointment comes at an exciting time for NNT.

“It's such a natural alignment for me as I wear scrubs day-to-day as a GP which is not too common, so I'm excited to share my experience and advice with other healthcare professionals while also educating consumers and busting some myths around scrubs,” Dr Preeya said.

The new appointment comes two years after NNT shifted into the direct-to-consumer market. Since then, the healthcare brand has recorded a 79% lift in sales, with website traffic up 11.5%.

NNT will continue to partner with ambassadors, influencers and healthcare professionals to increase brand awareness.
